Being a part of a FIRST Robotics team offers hands-on, real-world experience in a number of areas, not just robotics! 

Experience in FRC can transfer to many different areas and looks fantastic on a resume or college application. Many colleges have scholarships for FIRST students and the connections you make in FIRST can help you for life.

With our diverse interests and areas of study, the students of Minuteman High School are uniquely positioned to meet the many needs of a competitive FIRST Robotics team, including:

Robot Design and Construction
Building a robot for competition involves hands-on work in a number of areas, including:

• CAD design

• Manufacturing and fabrication

• Electrical wiring

• Practice field construction

• Programming

Marketing and Communications
Help us get the word out about Team Alpha Centuari! We are looking for students to help us with:

• Website

• Social media accounts (Instagram & Facebook)

• Signage and marketing materials

• Press releases and PR

Video Production and Digital Animation
Video documentation of the season is very important for a FIRST team, and each year there are several submitted awards with video components. We need students to film, edit, and release:

• Season documentation

• Promotional videos and clips

• Submitted awards, such as the Digital Animation Award and  Safety Animation Award 

Business Management and Fundraising
A FIRST Robotics team is like a small business, funded in large part through corporate dontions and grants. We need students with a head for numbers to help us with:

• Budgeting and bookkeeping 

• Grant applications

• Corporate sponsorships

• Fundraising events

Community Outreach
FIRST emphasizes community engagement and impact. You can helps us create events and initiatives that:

• Inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators 

• Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Partner with other organizations to make an impact
